Hello, reading the past two postings I think I may be (perhaps distantly) related. I'm looking for info about my Pfannenstiel side. I'm the Grandson of Frances (Frank) and Cecelia Pfannenstiel of Hays Kansas. Looking for more info, especially pre-migratory...Russia and also Germany before Kat the Great called them up. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yvonne, The Francis Pfannenstiel you are referring to in this message was my uncle, my Mom's (Rose Delphina Pfannenstiel) oldest brother. You're right about his father, his mother was Mary Rose (Gassmann) Pfannenstiel.

we may be able to help one another. My mother's maiden name was Bollig and her family actually did settle in hays County< kansa. A few years ago a reative did afamily history on my mother;s side of the family. In going trough ths I came across a Gilbert Pfannestiel b. 15 march 1930. he married lydia Miller b. 5 feb 1930 om 24 aug 1949.lydia 's prents were Jhn Miller April 30 1897- Dec 8 1969 and barbara Bollig b. Graf Russia Jan 8 1905 ( I do not have a date of death for barbara since this was done year ago, anand ia m in the processs of updating the family history. Barbaras brother was my Grandfather frank Bollig, Their father was Peter Bollig Jr. who immigratd from russia in 1907.
lydia Pfannestiel's (Nee Miller) siblings were Hubert, Edna Robert, Malfreeida, Elmer Tillie.

If their is a connection with ayoe searchng the Pfannenstiel family history I would be hapy to echange nots. I can trcae Lydia heritage back to Peter Bollig Sr. who immigrated from germany to Russia under catherine the great's reign.

My grandmother is related to Hermann Johannes Pfannenstiel. The famous genealogist. The Pfannenstiel incision was one of his famous surgerys. He lived in Germany. He was alive 1862-1909. He died from sepcetima on his finger. He was only 42 years old.
