My gggrandparents headstone have the following inscription:
"Was die welt trent vereind der tod"
Does anyone know what this might mean? I think there are some spelling mistakes as I can't get it to translate to anything meaningful.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I found a german translater online it said...

"Was die welt trent vereind der tod" was
"What the world Trent vereind of death"

So I'm sure trent vereind are wrong

This is one of those verse type statements. Directly, it says "what the world separated joins the dead" So a kind of familiar saying would be "separated in life, joined in death"
