Much help is need in trying to locate my aunt, Mary Ann Schroeder/Patrie. She is the daughter of Ella Helene Alice Schroeder/Patrie. Mary Ann was given up for adaption shortly after her birth mid June 1934, after my grandmother died giving birth to her. Ella is the daughter of John & Emma (Geske) Schroeder who lived in the Town of Day, Route #3 Stratford, WI. Mary Ann's father was Nick Patrie, who married my grandmother shortly before she died in 1934. He died in 1985. I've tried working with the State for my aunts birth and adoption records but they are sealed. Mary Ann had a half-brother (my father) Marvin John Schroeder, who lived in Stratford until the late 1940's. He died in 1985 of cancer. Marvin married Margaret Hanna Poppy (my mother) 25 Sept 1947. Ella had one sister Mabel, who married John Thon and one brother Albert. Please any help that could be given in locating my aunt Mary Ann would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know where your aunt is located, but my great-grandfather was Nick Patrie and was married to Ella Schroeder. I was just wondering if you ever found information about your Mary Ann.

Thank you "jalaynewisniewski" for your email. That was quite a pleasant surprise.
As to your question...No I have not been able to locate anything on Mary Ann. The people that I have had contact with "know" of her, but do not recall what happened to her.
The options that they have given is either she was given up for adoption or possibly passed away. I myself have tried every option avaiable to locate her, but she is still a mystery.
In Ella's obituary dated 13 June 1934 from the Marshfield News-Herald, it says that Ella is survived by "a tiny daughter" and in her church death record Ella is survived by her husband, 2 children, parents, 1 brother, 1 sister.
However, in Nick's obituary dated 26 Dec 1985, also from the Marshfield News-Herald, there is no mention of Ella nor Mary Ann.
Also, on information from Nick's Joseph Patrie's death certificate, it lists his parents as Matthew Patrie & Mary Beining. The informant of his death is listed as Robert J. Patrie. Would Robert be your grandfather?
Just a question, if I may...Could you tell me how you knew that Nick was married to my grandmother. Not too many people seem to know that. I would really like to know. This is interesting, in a good kind of way that is...
Are you or anyone else in your family researching the Patrie line?
If you would like to respond you could do so directly at
Again, thank you for your reply...

Not sure if these would mean anything to you, but go here:
I am not a relative or relation to either.

Thank you, I do appreciate your reply. I did check Clark County and didn't see anyone or anything that would be closely related.
