My mother is a Teeter, and I have Teeter relatives in PA, OK, MO. I believe my Grandpa Teeter was born in Iowa. His father was Frank G. (Grovier I believe) Teeter. I'll watch this message post. If anyone is interested, I'll find out more from my Grandfather.

I show a Francis "Frank" Teeter, b.January 2, 1846, Crawfordsville, Montgomery Co., IN; m. Isora Kansas Stevens. The only child I show for them was Charles Orr, b. October 10, 1873, Sangamon, IL.

All of my Dieter/Teter/Teator/Teeter family arrived in Philadelphia, PA, in 1729. After spending a few years in Bucks Co., PA, where they became immersed in the Scotch-Irish movement and changed the spelling of their name to blend in, some moved West; mine moved KY>TN>MO>TX>OK. It seems that several families linked back up in MO before moving to TX.

If this Francis "Frank" is too old to have been the Frank that you seek, he could have been the son of Charles Orr, named for his grandfather. the family had moved from IN to IL and may have moved next to MO which was across the river.

My great-grandfather was Frank Grovier Teeter, born 5 Jan, 1894, in Iowa City, Iowa. He had 4 siblings; 1) William Henry Teeter, Jr., 14 Feb, 1884, Iowa City, Iowa. 2) Mamie, 27 Feb, 1886, Iowa City, Iowa (died 4 Jun, 1886). 3) Elizabeth Grace Teeter, 4 Feb, 1889, Chicago, IL. 4)Alice Florence Teeter, 23 Jul, 1892, Iowa City, Iowa. Their father was William Henry Teeter, 27 Oct, 1855, Ohio. On his marriage application he stated that his father's name was Joseph, and his mother was Elizabeth Baker. In the 1900 Iowa Census, he stated that his father's birthplace was New Jersey, and his mother's was Virginia. That's as far back as I can get with the Teeter family line.

I think you may be my Granddaughter. I shall assure that.
Sarah Minerva Teeter Derr, at my last recount died on 11-17-57. Also I have seen entries that give her first name as Sally, Sallie, Sara etc. I took that date fron a grave marker a few rows away from the graves of my Mother, her Mother, my Father, his Father and Mother (my grandparents) in the Roselawn Cemetary here in McAllen. Maybe at the reunion, we can find out. Bring your info. with you.

Love Ya!
Grandpa.

Don,
I don't know if we're the same Teeter line or not but here are mine.
My GGGrandfather was Luther Teagarden Teeter b. 23 Mar.1856 d. 21 Nov. 1931 Buried Muddy Cemetery, Daviess Co., Mo.
My GGrandfather, Clyda Clarence Teeter b. 23 Aug. 1878 d. 23 July 1965 Weatherby, Dekalb Co., Mo. buried Old Cape Cem, Daviess Co., Mo.
Then Clyde had a bro. that moved his family to Bartlesville Ok. Luther Teeter. I lost track of them tho.....
I believe Luther Srs. father was Samuel H. Teeter but not sure of this either.
If you can shed any light I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Brenda Winslow

Brenda,

I can give you a lot of information on your Teeter line. I haven't proven that your line is connected to my line but I have to think it is.

There are a number of people that are working your line and if you will contact me I can give you some names and addresses.

Talk with you later.
