Trying to fond details of a a my grt grt grandfather
He is Edward Riley born about 1853 in Galway but the family moved to Sheffield Yorkshire when he was young, I have the census for 1861 to confirm this.His father was a Matthew Riley and his mother Elizabeth (unknown)he went on to have 10 children and they moved the lancashire area around 1890 as in 1891 they are in the Leigh area.How do I find a birth in ireland for around this time

you may be lucky, many irish records were unfortunately destroyed. that is the only thing i can suggest !!
