That is what is belived by historians. I will know for sure in a couple of weeks when I get my DNA results from the Carvajal Genealogy Project.
So far I know that I came from the Canary Islands which is Curbelo. My Curbelo contact in the Canaries know that we came from the Azores Islands which is part of Portugal and the spelling there was Curvello. back to mainland Portugal it is Carvelho/Corvelho an back to Carvajal in Spain.
Please email me direct @ matt.corbello@nortax.com and I will foward you the project.
We are helping write are history book.

thanks,
Matthew Corbello

Sorry for the late response. They have not been posting to my email.

At this time there is not enough comparrisons to know one way or the other. In my personal search I have gone from Curbelo in the Canary islands to Curvelo in the Azores Islands and back to Aragon Spain with Curvelo.

Have you checked out the Carvajal/Carbajal project?

contact me @ matt.corbello@nortrax.com
