I am in search of any information on Colonel Nathaniel Terry (1755-1837) of Halifax Cty, VA and the slaves he owned. Colonel Terry was the son of of Nathaniel Terry and Sarah Royal. Colonel Terry moved to Todd County, KY in 1821 and died there in 1837. He was married to Ann Thompson (1767-1860) When he died in 1837 he left the following children: James H. Terry, Robert I. Terry, Joseph R. Terry, Nathaniel H. Terry, Ann Martha Terry, Lucy H. C. Terry, and Powhattan Terry. When he died he left nearly forty slaves to be divided among his heirs. I am looking for the origins of the slaves, particulary Dick, Moses, Fowler, Sampson, Finder and Henry who were later sold to George A. Washington of Wessyngton Plantation in Robertson County, TN. Any information will be greatly appreciated. I may be reached by email at Jbaker18@bellsouth.net or called at (615)351-9052.
