There is a listing in the Texas 9th Cavalry for a William M. Hickman. I can't find my information on him so I'm not sure he is the one you are looking for. Also check the 29th Texas Cavalry CSA. A lot of the men in the 29th were from other states. Good Luck Deborah

The data I sent you is from the Clark County Circuit Court case # 665. Jessie Neaves has a new email address. He and in our last contack have not been able to establish the birth place of William M Hickman, other than the 1860 census. This list Ala.
I believe, but can proved it, that William M may have joined the CSA after 1860 to get away from the court case and may have died in service(I can't document this) in some other state then Arkansas. William M lived until about the age of early 40,s. Roy Hickman

I am from the Silas Lee Hickman line. He and several other Hickmans came from Buchannan Co., Mo. to Texas, Okla. and Ark. after 1850 but before the Civil War. Silas Hickman was my g-g-grandfather. We think William was Silas's brother or his cousin. So we did alot of research on William. This William may not be the one you are looking for. But then if it was I hoped the information might help. Tracing your family line can be hard work and sometimes one little clue helps. So good luck. :-) Deborah
