My great-great Grandfather was John T. Gillum, born in 1826 Albermarle Co. Virginia and died in 1906 in Johnson Co, Missouri. His father was Henry L. Gillum born 1800 in Albermarle Co. and died 1871 or 1873 in Logan Co. Kentucky. John T. was an infant when the family moved to Kentucky. They lived in Logan Co. Kentucky later but I am not certain that is where they first settled. I believe, the children of Henry Gillum were James, John T., George, Lucy, Pauline, William, George, Henry S and Mary. Our family papers have letters from Henry, William and George (where he mentions Lucy) and the county history confirms the information about John T. Gillum. He came to Johnson Co. Mo in 1852 and was the son of Henry Gillum and Nancy Lobban. I have had no success so far in establishing who was Henry's father. Unfortunately the 1850 census also does not list John T. The county history says he married a Ms. Stark in Kentucky and she died before he came so it seems likely he was not living at home in 1850. I will appreciate any help or assistance.

Sincerely, Susan

I have been doing research on George W. GILLIAM/GILLUM for about the past 25 years. George was born in 1835 to John B. GILLIAM/GILLUM and Brunette E. BAKER. John and Bruentte had four children George, Lucy, Mary and Margaret.

For years I was researching the wrong GILLIAM/GILLUM/GILLIUM line. I thought that my John B. was the son John P. GILLIAM but I know believe he is the son of James GILLIAM born abt 1770 in Albemarle
Co., VA and died there in 1847. James also had a daughter Elizabeth.

My George W. GILLUM (unsure when named cahged) was bron in Logan Co. in 1835 and lived there until between 1880 and 1890 when he moved to Graves Co., KY and died there in 1917.

I think there may have been, but I know little about James Gilliam. Only that he had a son named Henry L.
