I'm looking for GUNKA

Classification: Query
Surnames: Gunka
I am stuck. My g.grandfather was John Gunka and his wife may have been Sophia or Sabina (don't know a maiden name). I don't know if they were married when they immigrated at the turn of the century or if they married in the US. John Gunka immigrated from either Germany or Poland and settled in Toledo, Ohio. He was born abt 1889, and he died in 1963. He had two sons, Walter (my grandfather) and Joshua Gunka. ANY HELP on this would be appreciated.

Yes, I looked everywhere I could (without getting scammed out of my money). Suppossedly, he was married to my g.grandma (Sophia or Sophie) when they both came over and were from Poland. I'm stuck because there is really no way of telling if his name was changed or misspelled, nor can I find any Sophie/a coming over at the same time. I'm pretty sure they came through Ellis Island, but there records only go until 1912. My grandfather was born in 1919 and he was American born. Do you know of anywhere to find records between 1912 and 1919?
