I'm looking for any information on the Pasco Family who lived in the county in the early/mid 1800s. My ancestor Henry Pasco was born in CT about 1821. I have found him listed in Davis County, Ia in the 1850 Census listed as born in CT. I checked the 1850 Census for Pasco's and found several all in Hartford County. In the 1860 Census they are in Moultrie County, Illinois. I have never researched Hartford County, so any help you can give me would be appreciated. I've heard that his father may be a Lester Pasco but I have no proof of this. I did find a Pasco Family listed in the History of Ancient Windsor CT Vol. 2 by Stiles. I'm not sure of the connection though. Any help would be appreciated!

Sincerely, Mike Sutton msutton58@home.com

Mike,
This is the beginning of the Pasco Family in America. Enfield is now part of Hartford County, CT. Before 1750 it was part of Massachusetts. Windsor, CT is just a couple of towns away. The best place for information on Enfield is my reference # 26 below. I know the family lived there several generations with some members spilling over into area's that at one time were Windsor.

I hope this get you started on your Pasco search. Good Luck
Art Sikes

hi, mike.

i'm working on the pasco line again after years, trying to determine who Henry's father is and if there really are two brothers in Shelby/Moultie county or if "Harvey" and Henry are one and hte same person.

When last i worked on the line, i believed Lester was the father but after more work, i find he does have a son, but Lester and family are in CT in 1850 and that Henry is too young to be our Henry.

Someone speculates that his father may have been Stoddard Pasco who was in Ohio in 1830s and in Missouri in 1840. Stoddard has a son, Asa, who is in Iowa at the same time as our Henry, in the 1850s.

Any luck on your end?
