Can anyone tell me with certainty that John Rusk who came from Ireland to Charleston SC in 1793 and went to Pendleton District SC and was commissioned to build the Old Stone Church was born in 1750? That is the only year I have seen. If this date is correct he would have been 53 years old when his first child, Thomas Jefferson Rusk, was born and 78 when the last child, Rachel, was born. I find it hard to believe that he was born in 1750.

Surnames: Rusk, Risk, Moore, O'Dear, O'Dair, Adaer, Adair
John and Margaret Rusk
had dau. Elizabeth Rusk
who m. (date ?.....) Cornelius Neal (Neil) Adair.
Adair was spelt different ways in the Rev. War records, but he seemed to be in the war under the same men.

Robert Rusk or Risk made a will in Augusta Co. Virginia,
(brother-in-law was James Moore).
He had nephew, Robert O'Dear / Adair
Witnesses, John O'Dair / Adair & Elizabeth Adaer / Adair.
Would this Elizabeth have had a maiden name Rusk / Risk or Moore.
Would this John O'Dair have m. a Risk / Rusk or Moore ?

May be information on these families in Augusta County, Virginia and in the Virginia State Archives ?

Was Stone Church in Augusta Co VA built by Rusk ?

There was a William Adair who returned to Ireland c.1798 and his children b. in Ireland emigrated to Pennsylvania.
