Hello –

My name is Ginger Zimmerman. I am trying to find any information that I can on one Samuel Hill. The info I have is sketchy at best.

I know that he married one Harriett Crayton SHAFFER abt 1891. She was born in Red Oak, Garrett Co, MD (this is near Aurora, WV) on 2/27/1874. I also know that he was killed between abt 1895 in Wilson, Garrett Co, MD in a train accident. He was walking on the tracks and was hit by a train.

They had two children

Elva Crayton HILL – b. 10/25/1892 d. 06/01/1986 both in Garrett County, MD, m. Eli Oliver Roy ZIMMERMAN on 11/1/1908

Mamie Marie HILL – b. 12/1893

I found a Samuel A. HILL in the 1870 Pendleton County Census, Mill Run Township, Upper Tract is listed as the Post Office. He was 4 yrs old at the time, so he was born about 1866. He is listed with a George HILL (age 45) & Emily C. HILL (age 35); also listed are Jacob N (age 23), Mary E V (age 18), Israel C (age 16), Emily A (age 12) and Miles E (age 6).

I don’t know if this is my Samuel or not, but would appreciate any information you may have.
