Morning,

Can anyone advise how I can obtain access to Parich Records regarding births/Marriages/Deaths for the The Church Of Immaculate Conception - Ballymote, Sligo, Ireland. (I am in Australia)

I believe my Davey ancestors were of this parish, I have never looked up Parish records before.

Any guidance much appreciated.

Thanks

Jayne

Hi
Family Search (LDS) centres have on microfilm records from Irish Churches. http://fsbeta.familysearch.org/s/collection/list
Scroll to Ireland records
Another site for online research is

Good luck

My great grandmother Catherine Davey b.c 1836 married Edward Brennan b.c 1836 in Immaculate Conception in Ballymote on February 5, 1856. I wonder if we are related?
My E-mail address is Jmcdo41691@aol.com. I have a picture of the church, and will send it to you via E-mail if you like.

Jayne,

Did you get any response for your query on obtaining Church records from C of Ireland?

I would think it would be a matter of contacting the Parish you are interested in --sometimes the Rev. are co-operative, sometimes not.

I am interested in the area, and have been researching for records for a decade, never focused on Church of Ireland specifically, but am interested in what they say -- KEEP POSTING HERE!!

Try the family history center of the mormon church. They have microfilmed these records.

Hope you had some luck with your query in 2010.

I wonder if you could tell me which townland in Ballymote had you been interested in.
