I am researching all 15 of the Indian removal stations or forts established in Georgia in the late 1830s. There was an encampment in Towns County near Benj Chastains trade store. Any information about Chastain's store or Indian removal is appreciated.

I know that Fort Chastain was somewhere in present-day Towns County, but don't know where. The Benjamin Chastain family, extended family, and inlaws (Hoopers) lived on Hightower Creek which is on the eastern side of the county close to Rabun County.
