I have a document on the Culvers, "Some Descendants of Edward Culver, 1610-1973," by Florence Culver; this was obtained from Sandra Bradford, Hector town historian by Diane Marshall, a McIntyre descendant. My interest is the connection between the McIntyres and Stevensons as friends, neighbors, and relatives.

A family chart in this document prepared by Olivia B. Culver shows the following:

Willman Alton Culver, b 13 May 1862, McIntyre Settlement, twn of Hector; d 12 Jun 1940, Sayre, Penn. Father: Chancy Culver, 1830-1883. Mother: Mary Antoinette Lambert, 1833-1866. Married: Minnie Kellogg and Ettie Johnson.

Spouse: Minnie Mercy Kellogg, b. 14 Mar 1866, Bennettsburg, NY, d. 17 Oct 1934, Mecklenburg, NY. Married 17 May 1893 in Horseheads, NY. Father: George Riley Kellogg, 1824-1906. Mother: Margaret Wilcox, 1829-1869.

Children:

1) Mary Marjorie Culver, b. 8 Apr 1895, McIntyre Settlement, d. 4 Jan 1963, Oswego, NY.

2) Chauncey Eugene Culver, b. 26 Jun 1897, McIntyre Settl., d. 24 Apr 1975, Elimira, NY. Married: Mildred Evans, 12 Mar 1919.

3) Alton Lambert Culver, b. 30 May 1905, McIntyre Settl., d. 9 Aug 1995, Little Current, Ontario. Married: 1) Florence Bertha German, 4 Sep 1929, in Trumansburg, NY; 2) Irene Sampson, 21 Nov 1985, St. Petersburg, FL.

You appear to be a descendant of William McIntyre, 1754-1824, who founded McIntyre Settlement about 1800-1810, and Roseanna Campbell. Their daughter Elizabeth McIntyre m. John Mears, 1769-1843. Their daughter Mary Mears, 1806-1867, m. Cephas Culver, 1801-1839. Next came Chancy Culver, 1830-1883, who m. Mary Lambert, and had Willman Culver mentioned above.

Are you familiar with the town of Hector? McIntyre Settlement is close to Mecklenburg.

There is more info in this document -- let me know if there is anything else you want to know. Also, I have a mailing address for Olivia Culver, who appears to have more info. Send me an e-mail at lfisher3149@earthlink.net.

Thank you, I just got a little of that info from a long lost half-sister, but the info she had did not show the link of my grandfather to the second wife, I thought that this might be the case. happy to hear from you I sent an e-mail to you. Thanks

There is a Culver Road that runs from Rt.79 in Mecklinburg, NY to Cayutaville,NY. There is an old seed company on that road named the Culver Seed Company.

Chaunsey,

I am one of your "long-lost" brother-in-laws, and am happy to send you a file with all this information.

I got into genealogy about 2006, and integrated Culver material for my children and wife, Valerie (third child of Merton and Marjorie)
