Where do I go from here?

Hi everyone, novice here. Can anyone suggest where I can go from here?
My aunt has told me everything she knows about her grandparents which is limited but I did find them (my great grandparents) on the census.
I can't seem to go back any further to their parents though. I know the year my great grandparents was born, but not the actual birthdates and my aunt was little when they died so doesn't know any more than she has already told me.

I am now at a dead end, I cannot seem to find their marriage certificate for possible names either as the dates are again unknown. Would be greatful for any hints as there is no more family I can ask who know anything, thanks

Does it say where they were born? If it was in Europe, you could possibly find them on immigration ships' lists, possibly with their parents if they came to US while young. Can you find actual birth or death records on them? Parents should be listed on these, along with where they were born. They aren't always available though, especially going back mid 1800s. Check local church records for marriage record. Check local history books from where they lived, they may be in there. Check written genealogies of their last name, they could be in there. I've found a lot of info on people by googling the names. Be sure to verify if possible. Check sources like findagrave.com, cyndi's list, googlebooks (great because you can search by name). Sometimes I've had to leave a line of the family alone for a while and come back to it years later, only to find a lot more info available online. good luck
