We're hoping to find out a little more about these families in Ireland.

My Great Grandfather migrated to Australia on the ship "Bates Family", departing Liverpool, England in March 1863 with his wife Johanna and 3 children. (Approx 12more were born in Victoria.
James' is listed on Birth certificates for his children as having been born In "Fieries Cross" Co Kerry in 1834.
He married Johanna Finnaughty in Tralee on Sept 29th 1856. There are a number of variations to Johanna's "Sir" name, including Finnerty .
James parents are listed as Maurice Mannix & Margaret Dowd.
Johanna's parents are listed as Patrick Finnaughty & Margaret Sullivan.
It is believed that James had a sister Catherine who also migrated to Australia.
Julia, born 1879, the 11th child of James & Johanna, married Alec McCarthy.
I have a list of all the descendents of James & Johanna.
