May family in Tonypandy 1913 - 1925

My Grandparents moved to Tonypandy circa 1913 - I was told it was to do with his job but as he is classed as a theatre attendant on my Dad's birth certificate in 1915 I can't believe that - is there any way of finding out what he did during that period as they moved there after the latest census on public record

We don't have a marriage certificate - apparently my Grandparents never married (believe me it's a long storythat we've just uncovered) but Granddad did a variety of jobs - we know that they were in West Derby Liverpool at the time of my aunt's birth in 1912 then they were in Tonypandy when my Dad and two of his brothers were born.

On Dad's birth certificate it says theatre attendant

My Granddad was Harry May and my Gran was Beatrice
