John Arbuckle married a Mary MacAulay in North Uist about 1772.
They had 1 son William that married a
Flora MacLeod Aug 18, 1797. Flora was the daughter of Dr Murdock MacLeod of Kilpheader, N.U. She also had a brother Dr Alexander MacLeod
also known as An Dothair B'an (the Fair Doctor). Flora is my g-g-grandmother. William Arbuckle & Flora had 9 children. Alexander had 2 sons I know of. Dr.Kenneth & Rev. Norman. Lots more to share if you can make a connection.

I was in North Uist in Sept/97 and met Flora (MacLellan) MacDonald in Tigharry. She and her son Angus took us to the ruins of the church there that John Arbuckle assisted in building about 1764. John would be my g-g-g-g-grandfather. John's son married Flora MacLeod of Kilpheader, N.U. on Aug 18, 1797. Flora was the daughter of Dr. Murdock MacLeod and she was a sister of Dr. Alexander
MacLeod. There is a monument to Alexander on N.U. as he was known as An Dokter Ban. Alexander had 2 sons, Kenneth & Norman. I found both of their gravestones at the church in Kilmuir. Any help on Arbuckle or MacLeod would be wonderful. Donald Arbuckle, son of William & Flora emmigrated to Canada about 1850. He was my g-g-grand Thanks

Ann Murray b 1892.Could that be him?

Since posting my message, I have learned that Flora & Dr Alexander had also a brother Dr Murdock MacLeod & a sister Margaret. Margaret married Kenneth MacLeod of Ebost on the Isle of Skye. Must have been about 1820. Do you know where your Kenneth MacLeod was born as I will be checking this line further.

I have info on the branch of Kenneth MacLeod and Ann Murray as far as descendants, but not where they were from. Most of my family seems to be in the Barvas area.

Searching for ancester Donald MACLEOD, 1796-1881. I believe is father of Norman MacLeod born Scotland 1827, died April 8, 1907 (my g-grandfather) His wife: Margaret MACLEAN born 1828 in Scotland. Died 1918.
Grandfather is Norman Murdoch MACLEOD born 1865 Prince Edward Island, Canada, died 1933. Wife Sarah (SADIE MACDONALD) dauther of Thompson (Thomas) Macdonald born about 1855
