Had a grandfather named John B. Coffey (do not know his parent's names). Dr. Coffey married Emily Wieland in Prov. RI August 4, 1914.

I am trying to find out who my grandfather's parents were and/or my grandmothers. I do not know if Mary Coffey from Woonsocket or E, Smithfield were in any way related.

Was your Mary A. Coffey perhaps born in Rhode Island? I am carrying a Mary Coffey, daughter of Philip and Catherine Coffey, born circa 1869. Her parents seemed to have traveled between Worcester, MA, Woonsocket and Providence, RI. From what I can gather, Philip and Catherine Coffey had between 9 and 11 children. I believe Philip (b circa 1832 in Ireland) was a brother to my Great-Grandmother, Mary Coffey (b 1838 in Ireland), who was married in Woonsocket in 1858, and whose first 3 children were born in Woonsocket, Bernon and Smithfield.

I am noticing that you are speaking of Coffey's from the Worcester, Ma - Woonsocket, RI area. My great great Grandfather Thomas Coffee born about 1833 in Ireland but emigrated at some point to Worcester County, Mass. He lived in Uxbridge, MA. There he married Ellen Carney in about 1856. They had five children together however Thomas died trying to help his wife in labor and the baby that was born died a little while later of the croup. His name was William. Their children were Thomas, Patrick, Esther (Later married a Gilmore in Woonsocket, RI) and John. After Thomas died Ellen moved with the children to Holyoke, MA. By 1890 they were living in Woonsocket, RI. John Coffey is my great grandfather. It is my guess that Thomas had other family in the Worcester and Woonsocket, RI area. I am so hoping to find those relatives. Plus I am hoping someone knows where he came from in Ireland. Ellen died in Woonsocket in 1893. It just seems too coincidental that there were these Coffey's all born within a few years of each other living in this area. I have done the DNA Testing through Ancestry. Hopefully maybe you have and we can see if there is a match. Mary

Hello My Name is Mary Coffey Branham...my Coffey relatives are from Woonsocket, RI. My Great Great Grandfather was Thomas Coffee born in about 1834 in Ireland. He lived, married and died in Uxbridge, MA. After his death his widow, Ellen moved with her four children to Woonsocket, RI in about 1870. She had four children with her. Thomas, Patrick, John (my great grandfather) Esther..she married a Gilmore. I am trying to figure out Thomas born in 1834 if he is related to Philip and Mary. By any chance has anyone done the Ancestry DNA? I will be happy to share my tree to see if we can figure out relationships. I hope some day to find where my Coffey relatives came from in Ireland. Mary
