Monumental Inscription. The following is a copy of the epitah, neatly inscribed on the handsome monument erected in the Meadville cemetery in memory of Mrs. Farrelly who was the dau of the late general Mead.
In memory of Mrs. Elizabeth Farrelly, consort of Patrick Farrelly, Esq. She died the 14th of July A.D. 1811 aged 24 years 7 months 25 days.
"Beneath here rests near to a mother's grave,
The fathful consort & the parent mild;
Not from this fate could all her virtures save
And spare the mother to the infant child.
Could human might remove the awful veil,
And wake the ashes from their dread repose,
Thy husband still thy rising form woulf hail
To guard his children & to sooth his woes."
