Can't activate my Ancestry DNA kit

I ordered my DNA kit on 3/25/13 and received it about 5 days later. When I tried to activate the kits, an error message came up. I called Ancestry.com and was told there must've been some error in the ordering process. After two phone calls, nothing has been done. I'm out $99 (times 2) and have 2 useless DNA kits sitting on my counter at home. I am going to be patient and give them until 4/25/13 to make it a month but after that, I'm going to raise heck to get my money back. What a ripoff. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks.

I had a similar situation with one of the kits I ordered. All it took was a call to customer support.

I've had varying degrees of success with Ancestry's CS so my recommendation there is "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again". Different CS reps have different levels of knowledge (or giving a damn. I can't tell which).

1st make sure you are entering the activation codes correctly they ARE case sensitive.

2nd if the above option doesn't work please follow his link and try again. http://ldna.ancestry.com/activateKit.aspx

3rd if you have any more trouble with the activation please contact ancestry support by emailing support@ancestry.com

I have a problem activating mine as well.I will be getting on the phone and I will not be ordering another kit. I will demand a refund and will also report them to the Better Business Bureau.

I had a problem with one test for someone who lives out of town. When I called, the lady on the phone figured out that one of the numbers was wrong (it was Q and sounded like "2" to me). Once we got that fixed, it activated fine.
I had 2 other tests previously activated with no problem at all. From other posts, it's usually something really simple.

I had the same problem with activation. They sent me a 2nd kit. After numerous phone calls, I decided to switch from Firefox to Internet Explorer. I got a little farther. At least I didn't get an error code, it let me enter the activation code, my name, birth date, but then when I hit the activation button, nothing happened. I should get some sort of message that I am now activated. Tomorrow I will cal them to tell them I got a little further, but no activation yet.

Lorie I have taken this test and received my results without any problem This test is definitely not a rip off and clearly something is not working correctly. I recommend you call ancestry.com support and have them help you.
