Where would I find the funeral records from the Detrich Funeral Home. I believe it was in the Chambersburg area. The records I am looking for was in 1853. Does anyone know where I can find them?

Hi They are also known as the Necrology of Franklin County!
the undertaker was in Greencastle,Pa. not Chambersburg,Pa.
the listing is at Frankin County Historical Society, King St.,Chambersburg, also known as Kittochtinny Historical Society.
If you call them they will ask for a written request or at least an e-mail and charge a modest sum for copies.
.20 per copy but donations are always welcome. To become a member its 25.00 for singles. 35.00 for couples.

I have a copy of the records of the Jeremiah and Willaim Detrich Funeral establishment from 1 Jan 1853 to 1 Jan 1906. This is the same record that the Kittochtinny Historical society has. Be happy to do a look-up for you.

Hi Mike, hope you still review this thread. Are the earliest records from Detrich Funeral Home 1853? Also, what information are contained in the records. I live near the graveyard and have started researching the entire graveyard and mapping the graveyard to find all those buried there. The latest grave there is 1890 so the Detrich records might be a godsend. Just for example:
Hettie Brandt, wife of David Brandt, died 8 Apr 1869 age 31 years, 5 mo and 23 days. Do the Detrich records just have that information or is there more? Is the collection at the Chamberstburg Hist Society a complete set? Do you know where any of the Church Records are kept; they are not at the Grace Church. thanks,
Jack
