FERRIDAY Services for Shelton Eugene Simpson, 59, of Venice, La., who died Saturday, March 28, 2009, in Venice, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Youngs Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Ferrington officiating.
Burial will follow at Dewey Cemetery under the direction of Youngs Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Simpson was born Sept. 4, 1948, in Shaw, La., the son of Joseph Woodrow Simpson Jr. and Ida Mae Simpson. He was a commercial fisherman and a mechanic. He was loved by many and will be sadly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jesse Charles Simpson and Joseph Woodrow Simpson Jr.; and one sister, Peggy Otto.
Survivors include one daughter, Marsha Simpson Guidry; three sons, Shannon Eugene Simpson, Shelton Eugene Simpson and Sammy Lynn Simpson; five grandchildren, Chance A. Simpson, Chase M. Simpson, Mira M. Simpson, Kylaigh M. Ledesma and Michah I. Simpson; and five siblings, Faye Bell, JoAnn Grant, Frank Simpson, David Wayne Simpson and Diane Walker.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
