I am very new to this so my info may or may not be of use. Family legend has it that my great-grandfather entered the US via Vermont or New York from Canada. My grandfather's birth certificate says born in "New York". We don't know if it is city (most likely) or state. His name was David Bourdo. His Parents were David Bourdo and Louisa Knott. Somehow he ended up in Michigan. There are many Bourdo's in Michigan--especially around Detroit. Also, I believe there are several in Wisconsin.

I have very little so far on the Charlands. I will keep record of your messsage and see if it fits into the puzzle in the future. Have you ever been told that you were of Indian Heritage? Louise Charland is alledgedly of Indian descent. Thanks for the reply and keep me posted.

I have in my family a Thomas Amadee Charland born around 1870 in Canada. He married Josephine Dupont. They had three sons, Roy, Leon and George. Do these names sound familiar. The Duponts seemed to be from Derby, Orleans County, Vermont, USA.

Linda, I have a picture of possibly Louise Charland. Her spouse was Pierre (Peter) Bourdo(n). Do you have a scanner to share your pix? I have one but will have to enlist some asistance from a more computer literate person to try to transfer to you. Can't remember any names your aunt mentioned? Anyone else who had contact with her? Do you know the name of your grandparents and grt grandparents? Barb
