Looking for info on ancestors of Sarah Ann CONNER b 1833 TX & d 12/1879 buried in Nockenut Cemetery Wilson Co TX. She married Isham Green DUKE b 11/13/1836 GA & d 2/13/1899 Tyler Co TX & buried in Nockenut Cemetery Wilson Co TX. They were married in Woodville Tyler Co TX on 12/25/1867. Copy of license shows issued 12/24.1867 & filed 1/09/1876. I have no info on her parents or siblings.

They had 5 children:

According to family history Sarah Conner DUKE died shortly after the birth of the last child, Eugene Harvey. The Grandmother, Harriet E BAILEY DUKE came to take care of the children. The older three children were born in "East Texas" all probably in Tyler County, TX. The last two were born in the Nixon area. Their father had a "Country Store' in that area.
Will share info on DUKE, COLLUM, WELLS, BAKER, PEEBLES, and related lines.

Rev. Jesse Nelson Conner and Margaret Booth were in Woodville, Tyler Co., TX in 1856, at which time a bible record shows that Jesse Nelson Conner was born. The purpose of their migration to Woodville is unknown, as is the exact time of their arrival. Conner established churches in GA and FL later on, and settled in Live Oak, Suwanee Co., FL. Jesse Sr. is said to have come from NC to SC in the mid 1800's and was born around 1817-19... I know nothing more concerning Margaret Booth. Jesse Sr. had a 2nd marriage to a Virginia _____?

Hello,
Sarah was my 2nd-great-grandmother. Her grandson, William Lorain Baker who married Betty Drew Wells was my maternal grandfather. I have more information on the Duke and Wells families and little on the Conner and Baker families. I will be happy to send you what I have. Please send me your email address. Mine is patffey@swbell.net. Will wait to hear from you.

My husband's great-grandfather was John Conner & brother (maybe half-bro) to Nelson Conner. His son John William Conner was born in Mobile, Alabama just after the Civil War. If you have any information about their family, we would appreciate your sharing it with us. Thanks, THC
