Dear Karen: what a wonderful surprise to get your message. Can we exchange any info, and how to do it? My address is Marianne Kostal 2396 Upper River Rd, Grants Pass, OR 97526 and phone 541 476 1329. I have info on Harriet's family but nothing back on her. This will get me going on present descendants most are in Texas. I have some really nice photos of her family, they were very sweet people. I'll put your address in my book so can bypass this page. Eager to hear how to proceed on this, first time. Love Marianne;

Do you have any lead on the first appearance(s) of the Hambrick name in America, or Europe?
P>We Hambrick's are from the North Georgia area. We have relative born about 1900 that are in Oklahoma. Beyond that, thanks to Sherman, or some "revenuer" we are stumped for good tracks prior to Civil War. We have read that root of the name is English. Always believe otherwise.
Just starting to use the internet for info.

Patrick Hambric (Hamrick)arrived in VA in mid 1700s. Deeded property from Lord Thomas Fairfax in Prince William Co, VA. Family burial plot is still there with a monument erected in 1999 by descendants. Patrick had several children. For more info, contact Harry Hambric at haphambric@cs.com (my great grandfather took off the K). We have the family tree from 1700 to present for our line. May have something that could help you.

My greatgreatgrandfather, Thomas P. Thornton, married Frances Hambrick 5 SEP 1852 in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. Frances was born in 1802, somewhere in Kentucky. It is said her parents were born in Virginia. Thomas and Frances moved to Fremont County, Iowa in 1854, and died in 1856. They are both buried in Sidney Cemetary, Sidney, Fremont County, Iowa. Also buried with them, their son, Benjamin Franklin Thornton, who died shortly after arriving, in 1854. Looking for any possible link.

I probably have Frances' parents. Your dates look a little off. She would have been age 50 when married. Write!
