My grandfather was Norman Daniel McDuffie, and his father was Daniel McDuffie. Both eventually settled and died in Wilcox County, Ga. My grandfather was married to Pearl McClamore. Not sure of my great grandfather, but this may help in your search. Both are buried, as well as many more McDuffie's at the Christian Hill Church near Pineview, Ga.

Is your g-grandfather,Daniel and same Daniel (b1843) the son of Daniel (b.abt 1800) and Susan Dixon (b 1806) McDuffie. I descended from their daughter, Abigail. (Wilcox county, GA) They had 11 children. I have the descendants of Abigail and a son, John. I will be happy to share if we are of the same line.

I am not sure. I only know their names. My grandfather was Norman Daniel. He had three sons: Issac Raymond, Wilbur Bernard, and RB McDuffie. All talked about my great grandfather. Supposedly, he was the Sheriff in those parts long before they split the counties up. If you have any information you wish to share, I would should be grateful. I am a new to the geneology search realm.

It is very hard to keep up with all of the Norman's and Daniel's in this particular line of McDuffie's. I have been researching this line for some time now and still can't keep it all straight. However the information that I have is as follows :

Norman Daniel McDuffie b. 7-17-1886 d. 11-26-1953 married (9-14-1913)to Pearl E. McLemore b. 1-12-1896 d. 2-6-1956; both buried in Chirstian Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilcox County, Ga.

Norman Daniel's Parents :
Norman McDuffie b. 9-2-1851 d. 2-1-1930 married (12-10-1875) to Laura Jane Scaff b. 7-27-1857 d. 11-7-1896; both also buried in Christian Hill

Norman's parents :
John Dixon McDuffie b. 2-22-1822 d.11-28-1898 married (about 1843) to Queen Ann Stephens b. 3-20-1821 d. 2-17-1898; both buried in Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilcox County (I am a Direct descendant of John Dixon and Queen Ann through their oldest son Daniel)

John Dixon's parents
Daniel McDuffie b. abt. 1798 d. Nov. 1872 married (4-4-1822) to Susan(nna) P. Dixon b. abt. 1805 d.? I do not know where or when Susan died. But I do know that Daniel was in Wilcox County when he died. I have his obit. from the Abbeville Chronicle. Daniel was sheriff of Irwin County before Wilcox was formed.

Daniel's parents :
Murdock McDuffie b. abt 1767 d. abt. 1822 married (abt. 1798) to Abigail Curry b. abt. 1774 d. 1863; Both have a monuent at the James Lea Willcox lot in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Wilcox County although their exact place of burial is unknown.

This family is well documented in "The Passing of The Pines" Vol 1- 3 by Mary Lou McDonald. The second son of Murdock and Abigail, Capt. Norman McDuffie, was a senator from Pulaski County and in 1857 he submitted a bill to create a new county. The bill was passed and the County was named Wilcox. The county seat was named Abbeville, in honor of his mother Abigail Curry McDuffie.

I have much more information on this line if you're interested I'd be gald to share.

I am a descendant of Daniel and Susan Dixon McDuffie through their oldest son John Dixon McDuffie AND their daughter Abigail who married Turner Pope. I would be very interested in exchanging information on this family. I have a legal document between Robert Dixon and John B.F. Dixon (Susan's father and brother) that lists the children of Daniel and Susan and there are twelve of them. But I know nothing of them except for Abigail and John Dixon. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Do you think there is a possibility your line could be connected to the Alexander McDuffie line in Telfair Co., GA? I'm not sure how reliable my information is, but I have Alexander's parents as a John McDuffie Susan unk. John McDuffie's father as a Daniel McDuffie that served in the Amer. Rev. All of this information was passed down to me by an older brother before he died. Alexander McDuffie reportedly b. June 16, 1820 Robeson Co., NC m. Penelope Pickren. They had 12 children. Alexander and Penelope are buried at the McDuffie Cemetery, McRae, Telfair Co., GA. Any help appreciated. I have more information on descendants. Carol
