Hi, I am not related. You didn't give much info to go on, so I have no idea if this is the right family.

Labecki could possibly be spelled in (American) records as Lubetski, Lubecki, Lubisky, etc.
Hope this helps. RP

Ruth found two different families. Which group is yours? If it's the Milwaukee group, there should be vital records, or city directories that can lead to the name of Josephines husband.
Willing to help if it's the Milwaukee group.

I'm sorry this took so long to obtain. I believe that this is your guy based on the address that is the same as that for Josie and children in the 1900 census. This is how the record reads from the copy I printed off microfilm housed at the Milwaukee Public Library (Central Location).

I gave you an incomplete date of birth for Frank. It should read September 8, 1850.
There was a death record for a "Feofil Labocki" who died 18 July 1900/1901. Volume 181-page 423. However this was a 5 month old child from a different family.

Surnames: Labecki, Sikora
Hi,

I was in the middle of trying to find what I could find about Teofil Labecki when I came across your message. There are just a couple of things I wanted to mention.

For whatever reason, Teofil was known as Frank in the 1895 Wisconsin Census (Franc Labenski on Ancestry.com). Also, the Polish Union Cemetery is now known as St. Adalbert Cemetery. It's most likely his funeral took place at either St. Josephat's or at St. Stanislaus - it's possible the church's record has some information concerning his parents or hometown. The Milwaukee Archdiocese could help you there; I know the church records were filmed by the LDS church. His wife was Josephine Sikora - the older sister of my Great Grandmother. Teofil and Josephine were married in Poland about 1880 and came to the US very shortly after. I've not found their passenger list. I hope some of this information is helpful to you.
