Thanks. I'm going to try to find the book about the history of the Grant Clan over here. My brother-in-law is in a clan here, though not the Grants.

Hi
I have done a little bit of work on the Grant's from Irvine. I am descended from Peter Grant c 1769 - 1848 and Janet Ballantine c 1782 -1865. However Peter Grant according to the Census of 1841 was not from Ayrshire.
I have looked a little at earlier Grant families in Irvine.
I have a
Ludovic mc 12/4/1702
Lodowick mc. 30/1/1704
Helen fc 24/11/1706
Alexander mc 14/5/1710
Janet fc 28/9/1712
Mary fc 30/1/1715
James mc 9/12/1716
Simeon mc 20/8/1718
Simeon mc 11/10/1719
Elizabeth fc 4/12/1720
Anna fc 17/2/1723
All were the children of John Grant and Kathrin Dick.

Regards Angela

the age thing bothers me, if he was born 1702, deported in 1716, would only be 14 years old
i cant find any PROOF of ludovic parents
the trials were held at chester, which is just above liverpool, but the trial records are suppose to be in kew, london, public records office, identified as KB8/66, but i dont know how to check these records..would surely give his home address & fathers name, if the whole clan was in the rebellion
any help appreciated
