I am looking for any information on the parents of Clarence Hardin Loflin, born 12/20/1873 Mississippi County MO. He married Nancy Jane Woods 6/7/1896 Johnson Co., IL. They had the following children. Luther, Jewell, Mattie, Charles, and Nannie. On Clarence's death certificate it states Tom Loflin as father, no name for mother. I would appreciate any help anyone could give.

My Grandson, Charles Jefferson Oldham, is the son of my daughter Elizabeth Ann Knapp and Shannon DeWayne Oldham. Shannon is the son of Jefferson Clarence (JC) Loflin and Betty Lou Oldham (they were not married). JC lived and died in East Prairie, Mississippi, MO. JC was born 13 Dec 1924 (place unknown) and died 12 Feb 1984 in East Prairie (buried in Charleston, Mississippi, MO). JC's parents were Homer and Ida Bell Loflin. The siblings of JC (at least what I know of at the present) were Marshall, Gary Leon, Donald and Joseph. JC's kids are Kenneth, Jewell Tomas, James, Jimmy Dale, Barbara, Brenda and Mabel. Somehow Tommie's name sounds a like it should hook to your family.

Does this sound familar to anyone? Any information would be appreciated.

Charlotte,
None of those names sound familiar. I'll have to ask my dad if he knows any of them. My grandfather Charles Loflin was born in Mississippi County and lived there all his life. His brothers were Luther, Jewel, sisters were Mattie and Nannie. He also had one step brother and one step sister. Some of the people you mentioned could be decendents of Luther or Jewel. I'll see what I can find out.

Yes, his birthday is September 18,1939. He had five brothers and two sisters. J.C., Marshall, Gary, Donald, Junior, Wanda and Dolly and a step- brother David on his mom's side and I believe five or six step-sisters and a step-brother on his dad's side. Jewel & Ada divorced or were seperated when my dad was around 8 or 9, then Ada died from a heart attack when my dad was 10.

I would be interested in any information you may have.

I would really like to learn more, as my family knows very little beyond the immediate family history.

I am married to Ronald Joe Loflin, his brother was JC Loflin. The information that was listed as JC mother is incorrect. His mother was Ada Leona (Langley) Loflin. Ida Bell was JC wife.
