I'm hoping that someone will be able to help me by providing a lookup in a cemetery listing for my relatives which I found through the OCFA. I've been unable to find the marriage in Vital Statistics records. Unfortunately there are no dates in my grandfather's notes but he remarked that Alfred was the Fire Chief and there were daughters: Mamie, Harriet, Ruth, Frances and Rosalie. Ellen Somerville was born c. 1886 in Hamilton, Wentworth Co. so I'm guestimating that the marriage was around 1906.
Alfred Stephen KAPPELE & Ellen SOMERVILLE and infant son. There is also a Mary PRESNELL KAPPELLE.
Thanks in advance, Elaine

The Kappele's are interred in the mausoleum at the Avondale cemetery:
Row 58 # 1: Ellen Somerville Sept 5, 1878 - Nov 6, 1964 w/o Alfred Stephen Kappele
Row 59 # 1: Alfred Stephen Kappele Sept 17, 1873 - March 12, 1944
Row 57 # 1: Mary Presnell Kappele Nov 23, 1898 - Sept 21, 1982

A quick check in the vital statistics marriage index shows a Alfred S. Kappele being married in Hamilton on April 20, 1898.
The marriage registration number is 015675 in the year 1898.

Thank you very much for taking the time and effort to post a reply. I don't know how I missed them in the VS but I'll take another look. Elaine

Hi Cuz,

If you wait long enough, all of the Kappele's come out of the woodwork. How about he was my grandfather's brother. Good enough. I was at the cemetery last year doing some Kappele research. My aunt, Florence was very close to Alfred.

Mary Presnell was Stephen second wife. How would you like the family back to 1600's?

Where do you live? I have never been able to find Alfred's descendants.

Cantact me, I live northwest of Chicago, Illinois.

Hi Bruce, good to hear from you or any distant cousin at any time :-) Alfred & Ella had 6 daughters and no sons that I'm aware of so the searching has not been easy. I'd love to learn more about the Kappele's so I'm sending you a message by regular email. Elaine

Hi,

We've talked before. My great grandfather Edward Kappelle, brother to Alfred was married to Harriett Pressnell. I have a picture of her. I don't know if the Mary Presnell was related, maybe or might be. There was a split inour family. I do not know the details.

Hi,

I am getting too old. Mary Pressnell was Alfreds daughter, oops.

Anyway, did I tell you there was a still born and a son?

Alfred Kappele married Ella Somerville in Hamilton. Rosalie is still alive. Your missing a daughter Ethel who was my grandmother she married George Samuel Atkins. My mom and her sisters would be able to help they are still in the Stratford area.
