I'm looking for descendants of Gertrude Ryerson (b. abt 1871) and Abram Cole (b. abt 1871) both of Cedar Grove (originally Verona Township) New Jersey. Gertrude's parents were Ira Ryerson and Sarah Van Houten. Abram's parents were John and Ann Cole.

Gertrude was first married to a John Cole and their children were Abram (b. abt 1898), Elsie (b. abt 1899) and Elmer (b. abt. 1900).

Gertrude and Abram's children were Olive (b. abt 1902), Midred (b. abt 1905), Norman (b. abt 1907), Nelda (b. abt 1909), Stanley (b. abt 1914), Marion (b. abt 1916).

Thanks!

I'm still on ancestry :). My husband is Olive Cole's grandson and we're trying to find out who his grandfather was. Since I wrote the message, I've found out a lot more info on the Ryerson/Cole family but no info on Muriel and Robert Cole's father. Any info you may have would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds to me like you have a lot more info than I have! I've only just begin by entering what my father's research said in the early 80's, and he didn't have too much back on the Coles, though he had more on the Ryersons. My next step is working backwards from myself to "confirm" my father's info and build off of that.

Olive's brother Elmer had a daughter, Millicent Cole (still alive), and her son Kenneth is my father.

I'll send you access to my tree - I'd be happy to compare notes.

I'm wondering if your grandmother would know anything about Muriel and Robert's father. It must have been talked about in the family since Olive never married. Muriel would never talk about it so my husband doesn't know anything about his grandfather.

I'll give you access to my tree. It actually goes back to the 1200s which is amazing. Also, an ancestor was on the first boat of Walloons to come to this country in the 1600s.

While I'm afraid she's not entirely... let's just say I'd be surprised if she did have any answers, but I'll be more than happy to ask her tomorrow. :-)

Thank you. Muriel died in 2003 and she would have been your grandmother's first cousin.
