I have an old photo album about 4 inches x 6 inches; two inches thick. Two photos have: "Good Picutres, Frames, & Bayley's Rooms, La Crosse, Wisconsin" printed on the back of them. I think the photos are from about 1850 to 1900 (just guessing). Does anyone want it? I'll be happy to mail it to the first person who requests it. Betty betty65nko@msn.com

Betty I would love to look at the album... Both sides of my family are from LaCrosse County.

If they are not related i would pass on to someone that is related... We should keep it moving so it can find the family..

Good Morning Betty

I received the Photo Album Saturday

What a nice book and the photo's are wonderful...

It looks like many were taken in the mid 1800's and only three names.

I hope it is enough to help find the families....

What a challenge...

I did find some matching surnames in the World Tree but could not find the given names... this may take some time...

Well it has made us think... we must go back on all of our family photo's and put names and dates and places...

I am just sick... to think that some one would spend so much money on the book and taking the photos and not write the names of the families on the pages... darn

John

PS: I plan to use this link to help find the families...

Mary Thank you for your interest...

I think it is a great Idea... We would like to find a home for the pictures.

I went through the pictures and was able to find no clues other than the one's posted on the Message Board.

I will need your Mailing address...

After you have done all you can please keep the pictures they will be closer to home with you... I live in White Bear Lake, and the previous holder was in Kapaa, Kaual, HI

There are some wonderful photos

John

Subject: Old Photo Album from La Crosse, WI

John
I live in rural La Crosse, WI and would be willing to take the pictures to the archives at the Public Library. They have an entire room dedicated to genealogy and local history. Perhaps they can help solve the mystery behind who these pictures belong to. If they are unable to help I could send them back to you.
The second picture probably says Trempeleau County on the back. If you're not familiar with the area, Trempeleau is just north of La Crosse...probably less than 30 miles. Let me know what you decide or if you still have the pictures.
Regards,
Mary Schmidt

John,
I got the photo album this morning...that sure didn't take long.
I looked through them and made a call about one. Photography studio Bayley and Palmer was only in existance from 1873-1875 on Main St. in La Crosse, WI.
I will let you know if I track down who they belong to.
Thanks for sending them. I will do my best to find the family they belong to.
Mary

Hi John,
I am interested in looking at the album, too. My families mostly came from the LaCrosse area also. The names are: STUBER, GUNN, GUND, JONES, REISINGER, AND MARA. My husband's families also came from the area: WILCOX, HORMAN, MONSON, EHLO, PETRIE. Please email me if you don't find someone who would like it next.
Thanks, Anita
