Surnames: Gormley, Briody, Matthews, Fenn
A large family tree made by one of our deceased has a Philip Briody (bro. of John and Mary who married John Gormley and had Grace, Agnes, William and John who married Dorothy....) married to Mary Matthews and the rest flows down and over to my Fenn Family. From the chart (without dates) it looks as though though Mary and John Gormley were in the 1825-1850's and their descendants, Grace, etc., in the 1850-1875's. No other info but let me know if you connect. My cousins are direct descendants of Philip and Mary Matthews.

I am looking for a Mary Nolan and John Gormley couple. You mention a John and Mary Gormley- was Mary's maiden name Nolan?
I know nothing about their parents or previous relatives, but I am told I am descended from their daughter Katharine. Is any of this familier?

Please reply!
Thanks!

I will be happy to look over my baptismal certs and see if I see a Nolan for you. Doesn't ring a bell at first glance. Do you know if they lived in PHilly?

I thought they lived in Ireland but I'm not ruling out any possibilities at this point.

Surnames: FORD LEACH GERAGHTY BROWN CREAMER KELLY MEER
Many went to PA (Scranton & Philadelphia area)from Co Mayo, which is where my FORDs are from. Mine were married in Kilmoremoy Parish (St. Muredach's) in Ballina. There are LOTS of FORDs still there. My cousin who has studied this for many years believes that originally FORDs lived up on Killala Bay and fished. Ballina is on River Moy which empties into the Irish Sea a few miles north, on Killala Bay. My FORD married MEARS/MEER and they were connected to REDDINGTON, LEACH, GERAGHTY, GRIFFITH in church records. We know that FORD & BROWN frequently married, also some CREAMER/CRAMERs. In USA for one generation forward, they tended to marry others from their Irish county...mine married FOY, MANLEY. My FORDs became big grocers & business owners in Chicago, NY & PA. Dna shows me connected to KELLY, O'NEIL, GALLAGHER, LEWIS, GERAGHTY, BROWN, GARDINER and many others.

Foghill is a town just to the east of Galway City, Co Galway. I believe it is in Co Mayo and is likely the town you are looking for.
