I have the WW1 Pension records and Medal Card for my husbands Grandfather. Unfortunately his full records no longer exist. However- I am interested in finding from the following info. where exactly he served and in what engagements. Royal Engineers 3rd Prov. Reg./corps - Chelsea No.110198/Hqq138/17 RE/1318 BEF France 13.10.15-16.5.17
There is a bit more on the records but it is very hard to decipher. Does anyone know how/where to search for further info?
Also have his brother's records inc. Boer War which are more detailed and would like to find out more about his career and service esp. as my husband's Grandfather was also in the Boer War - It may shed light on HIS Boer war service too - if brothers served together.
I would be veery grateful for any possible help or advice.

Have you tried googling "Royal Engineers history"? There are several links including one to their Museum and Library in Kent.
