I am a desendant of Solomon Baker born in Va. it has been reported to us he was related to a James Baker born around 1780 in Va we know he lived for sometime in Mecklenburg County does anyone have any info on these people? we are at a dead stop here and needing to find a connection!

Surnames:

James Baker moved to White County Tennessee with his wife Mary Polly Holmes and her brother, Edward Holmes b 1776 d. 1833 White County Tennessee. Solomon possibly moved with them, check the census.
