I know that the Murphy, Wiley and Irwin family inter -maried in Lancaster Co. Pa. and York Co. Pa. Have considerable info on Wiley's but would like to hear from any Duncan's or Murphy's from that area. I also have more info that someone gave me on the Wiley family and would share if they would contact me.
I also understand that the Duncan family inter-married in Ireland.

Samuel Irwin B 1710 Glencoe, Ulster Ireland .D 4-7-1783 Lancaster Co. now part of York Co. Came over with his 4 oldest from Cork Co. Ireland. James Duncan, Samuel, John, Isabella. Son Christopher born 1746 Great Britian remained with possible other children and spouse. Can't find much on Christopher except have his will. Assume he traveled back and forth from Ireland because his son Samuel G. Irwin B 5-21-1781 in Cork Co. Ireland but Christopher was in York Co. Pa. in 1775 and then purchased land in 1800 in York Co. Pa. ,died in 7-5-1814. Samuel, died 9-21-1863 York Co. Pa. -m- Mary Duncan born 1781 Ireland Died 12-23-1870 York Co. Pa. Her father was Robert Duncan

Murphy on 9-28-1864 .B 12-23-1830 Died 8-15-1903 daugher of Thomas and Elizabeth Smith Murphy. Maternal Grandparents John Smith of England B 12-27-1758 D 2-11-1826-m- Anges b 3-2-1857 D 1-29-1841.
Samuel Gen. #3 had daughter Isabella Orr Duncan Irwin B 9-14-1814 died 9-2--1890 married 3-4-1847 to Thomas Wiley ,Born 8-24-1811 Died 3-3-1881

Per history of Pa. Samuel Irwin's family inter-married with the Murphy's but I have only found one marriage to the Murphy family. History also has several errors . Seems they got Christopher 2nd generation mixed with Christopher 4th generation and did not list any spouses nor dates. I paid researcher to find what I do have on the family .
somewas written by Beer's & Co. of Chicago. History of York Co. Pa. Vol..page 596 & 597in 1907
Also received information from the Wiley family and while they gave me considerable information, I have some that they do not have and would share.

I have IRWIN / ERWIN etc in York County. They probably came through from Lancaster County. My line goes back to a Patrick who married Julianna WINTERMYER in about 1787 in PA and settled in Manchester Twp then Newberry and York, had at least 13 children. Son Jacob was bp 09 Sep 1789 Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Any contacts?

One source said that they came to America and went back and forth. My first four generations all came over after Samuel Irwin and his 4oldest children . I only have one more of his children because Christoper Irwin was my direct line and he did not come over until later but I do not know the exact date of when any of them came over . Could never find any other children of Samuel nor his spouse who I think may have been a Duncan. Do know that all children of 3rd. generation were born in Ireland but married and died in York Co.Pa. Have found that the part of Lancaster Co.where the Irwin's lived was later part of York Co.I have contacted them and they are wonderful in York Co. Was able to get a lot of wills etc. from there.I don't have Patrick or Julianna but since I had to pay a researcher to get some information and she said that the Irwin's that came from Delware and came up to Lancaster Co. were not related to me.Don't mean that they could be related , just didn't have them on my family tree that was given my family. There are lot of errors on the history of the Irwin's in Pa.They got Christopher Irwin the second generation all messed up with the 4th generation Christopher who came to Ohio when he was 15 years old . Still have never found a spouse for him . AT least nto Joseph my GGG Grandfther who married in Athens Co. Ohio . He was born in Ohio but have never found where. Know were he is buried in Athens Ohio. HIs brother who was two years younger lived with Christopher when he was 39 in Huron Co. Ohio . Christopher had 2nd wife Elizabeth Price and 3rd Nancy Hartness.
