My great grandmother was Amalia Valdejuli Carambot. Carambot is of Catalan origin. This surname orginated through the marriage between a man with the surname Valverde and a woman with the surname Carambot. The surname Valverde is more common in the province of Leon, Carambot is more common in Mallorca and the Catalan region. I obtained this infomation from a site in Spain which offers the genealogy data and sells the coat of arms for several surnames.

The origins of the last name Carambot is from France.Comes from coal. From france they went to Spain. There are still some living in France. Now; the person with that last name is family to another with that last name; exept for the wives of men who use their husbands last name; because Carambot has only one root. I have my family tree quite advanced in two places (here is one). My maiden name is Carambot, but use the married. I have or had the Coat of Arms and the story of that last name.(because some one ask me if he could borrow it and still more that 5 years of that).
