I'm looking for any information on Owenetta Painter /Etta Painter. She and her brother were Civil War orphans. IF anyone has any information or know where I can find information I would appreciate it. She later Married John E. Carville.

The only Owenetta/Etta Painter I can find that is married to John E. Carville appears in Pennsbury, Chester Co., PA in both 1920 and 1930 census. That, however, must not be yours, since according to the censuses, she was b. ca 1892-1895, about 30 years too late to have been a Civil War orphan.

I could be wrong on the civil war orphan. I know she was an orphan and she was born in 1894 and died in 1975. I'll have to double check with my father on the orphan info. The census is probably right she married John E. Carvill and had children one of them my grandmother Frances Carvill
