Hi and thank you reading this I sure would like to have the Jane LNU solved. My line from he and fore fathers. My great g-father was Benjamin Bird 1838 son of Wm.Simmons jr. Hey cousin. Silas Jenkins Bird was my gg grandfather. His father was Thomas Alexander Bird, son of William Simmons Bird.

I don't know if there are any Bird/Byrd cemetaries in Franklin Co., Va, but I've seen 2 of them listed for Putnam Co., WV. If
you go to the following webpage you will see both listed with directions and a list of those buried there. The 1st one seems bigger than most family cemetaries.

I have know idea what Jane's last name was. At first I thought someone was posting her last name as Lnu, which seemed odd, but later I read that it meant "last name unknown." Shows you what I know.

Interestingly enough, I am a descendant of John Bird.
My grandfather Baxter Bird's father was John Bird b.28 Nov 1812,Bedford Co.VA. Baxter is buried in Kanawha Co.WV and John is buried in a family Cem. in Putnam. Co, WV. This Baxter & John came to WV from Franklin Co.,VA.
Of those buried in the Cem. you refer to in Putnam Co. all came to WV after the Civil War. I have been to this cem. many times.
John's father is also John b.16 May 1784 Loudoun Co VA, His father John married Jane LNU.

I was wondering if you have any info on a Vardeman Bird/Byrd from any of your John's. Vard was born 1804-1806. It has been said his father was John Bird. There is also a Vardeman Bird born around 1770-1780, I believe a brother to John. I'm not sure if my 1804 Vard is son to this Vard or son to John. Any help would be appriciated.

Sorry but I do not know of a male named Vardeman. I do have a :Thomas BIRD Born: 1784 + Betsy MORRIS,m: 02 Jan 1806 in Bedford Co., VA but do not have any children listed for them. Information is not plentiful during these years. If you locate him let me know. I live in Texas and do not have access to sources available only locally in Virginia

I note your statement that your g-grandfather is Benjamin Bird 1838 son of William Simmons Bird. I have Wm.Simmons Bird born; 28 Dec 1777 Loudoun Co, His son Benjamin Bird was born: 29 Dec 1812; wife Esther Hunt m.16 Dec 1833. Are your sure you have the right data?

I have copies of his pension files.

Years that the children were born are spread apart after the first three, their may have been more children in between that were miscarriages, or died at birth? The last child was born abt 1835 that would have made Betsy the age of 46. Not impossible, but I'm thinking back then maybe not. This could have been adopted children too??
