Hi, My grandmother was Mary Christina Toomey and at some time lived at 3 GLOUCESTER STREET DUBLIN. Mother was Margaret and siblings Lizzie, Kathleen and John (Jack). I am able to find birth (Dublin 1899) and marriage (Burnley 1928) records for Mary Christina but nothing for the remainder of the family. After around 1902 the father dies and the family remarried to Kavanagh. I am looking for any clues as to the BMD and parents of the father. Thanks, Phil.

wow - thank you. As you can see John Toomey died at 40. I believe he had a brother that died early also but I can not find one. The reason I am researching this side of the family is because all the men seem to have heart defects. Any idea where I would go for cause of death ?

There are so many Toomeys burried around 1905 in the Glasnevin cemetery.

I thought I would find the Toomey family in the 1901 Irish Census looking like this - but it is not there.

There is plenty of Toomey (+ variants) info on irishgenealogy.ie, but without knowing John Toomey's parents names (which you should get from his Civil & Church marriages to Margaret Carroll), it's not possible to find out who the brother who died young is. Unless you already know his name & age of death??
It seems to me you will have to risk buying the cert for the John Toomey who is buried in Glasnevin, from which you should be able to ascertain if he is "your" John. You could then get his Death Cert which will give cause of death.
