It is my understanding that Ralph Linscott was first married to Rose Lee Mayol of which there were two children born of that marriage. He later married Bermi Root. I was given information that there was a child born of that marriage named Rose Marie Linscott, born 7/27/1929 who later married a N.B. Paulsrud. Can anyone confirm that this was in fact a child born from this second marriage? Thanks!

Bobbi, you are close, but not quite correct. Yes, there was a second marriage to Bermi Root, and they actually had 2 children, not one. Rose Lee Marie was the first of these two children and the second was Josephine Ann. It was Josephine who married Norman Burnett Paulsrud. I had been in communications with Josephine for several years prior to her death in 2002. It was she that provided a great deal of information on this part of the Linscott family.

What I currently have on the family of Ralph and his two wives follows. By all means, if you have more to add, or questions to ask, please fee free to contact me direct. [All of the family numbers are from my own work.]

By the way, what is your interest? In Paulsrud, or in Rose Lee Marie?

Jeff, you were such a huge help to me and I thank you for your information. I am actually interested in the Bermi (Root) Linscott lineage. I had no idea that there were actually 2 daughters born to the Bermi/Ralph union. I appreciate all the information that you have given me, including Rose Lee Marie's children and Josephine's children. Those were in fact, the gaps that I have been missing. I actually got to where I'm at through researching the Marion Diard family. Bermi was the second child born to Daisy Marena (Wells) Root, born 2/6/1880 in Kimmswick, MO, died 10/11//1953 in Drew County, ARK and Cicero Root, born 11/13/1873 in Little Hocking, OH and died 12/24/1940 in Monticello, ARK. Married 1/10/1905 in Belleville, IL. Daisy would have been Marion's Aunt, making Bermi her cousin. This in essence then makes Rose Lee Marie Linscott and Josephine Ann Linscott her 1st cousins once removed, while Mayol and Margaret would be her 1/2 cousins once removed (I think). That's enough to boggle the brain! I appreciate all of the help you have provided me. You have done an incredibly awesome job on the Linscott family.

Hi..are you a descendant of Cicero and Daisy? Daisy was kind enough, maybe 10 years ago (?) to mail me a handwritten family history of she and Cicero. I was a Root, born in Washington Co., Ohio, and have most of the Root information, but nothing on Cicero's family beyond what Daisy sent me. She also sent me several family pictures. Cicero was a darn good looking man!!! Would you have any information on his half-brother, David? Everybody called him Day. I have several letters written by my grandfather to my grandmother, before they were married, when he was in Granite City, Illinois. Would love to correspond with you.

I am looking for my great grandmother. Her name was Minnie A. Root. b. 1844 in Ohio and her parents in Vt. I was wondering if you have any information on her. She married Thomas Dunn and had a daughter
Flora. She married in 1867 my great grandfather William H. Lewis born N.Y.in 1837. They lived in Mi. but moved to Black Rock, Ark around 1900. They both died there. I know very little about my family. I never knew any of the people I am related to. It would be a blessing to me to find some of them...Thank You, Mary

Hi there. Going through some older emails and realized that I never responded to this one, sorry.

I Probably never actually met her, but I am well know as a Linscott family historian and researcher, compiling a Linscott family history for over 27 years now. It is the largest Linscott history ever compiled to date, in excess of 1800 pages, and growing. I collect Linscott information on all Linscotts and Linscott descendants.

I corresponded with Josephine for many years regarding your branch of the family, but I am sorely out of date with updates.
