Hi,

I just came accross this site and notices names that could link to my family history in hawaii. My grandmother was Clemencia Beauchamp(sometimes spelled bochan) Caravalho, daughters included, Carmen Sallas, Dominga Rios and Minie Hosino. Son's Pedro Carvalho and Manual Caravalho (sometimes he spelled it Caraballo). Also I noticed Salias ( my father's name was Sallas changed from "Sayas" could have been mispelled as Salias). He was married to Carmen Caravalho Sallas, had sons, Charles, John, Peter, William, James, Joseph and Daniel Sallas.. I'm trying to get more info on how my father and grandmother came from Puerto Rico to Hawaii to work in the cane fields.

I too just discovered this website and had family from Puerto who immigrated to Hawaii and was totally in the dark about how they got there. I still don't have all the facts but I do have some names of ancestors now and know where my family was born for the most part. They immigrated at the turn of the 20th century, 1900 & 1901, with other family members and I understand that my maternal g/f left PR, entered the US through New Orleans, I believe but am not sure, went by rail to San Francisco then by boat to the island of Maui, Territory of Hawaii then, where my parents were born and where he met his wife who was also born in HI but her parent/parents may have been born in PR. My paternal gparents were both born on PR and may have married first although once again I'm not sure of that or just how they entered or by what ship they came in.

Aloha - i just found this posting and saw my family name on it. I tried to access your site, however, the link doesn't work. I am looking for the following family names...Reba K Hanamaika'i (Paia, Maui) and Rose Kalamaha'ahe'o Otis (Lahaina, Maui). I would appreciate any information you might like to share. These are my great-grandmother's and finding information on them has been rather difficult.

Mahalo in advance for your time and consideration.

Aloha a Hui Hou,

Can you tell me if the Forsyth you refer to is for:
Thomas Charles Forsyth and Luahiwa Kulaia Forsyth? They are supposed to me my great great great grandparents, according to documents, records and Oral Family History.

Also, could your Forsyth refer to my great great grandmother, Alice Forsyth Metcalf, and her half-sister, Agnes Rebecca Lepeka Forsyth?

Any information on these four would be greatly appreciated. Aloha from KaleiolokoDolphin

Rebecca Agnes Kaiua Forsyth was my gr-gr grandfather's 3rd wife. I have no clue if the Agnes Rebecca Lepeka Forsyth you speak of is the same person.
