Does a Thomas Brunton married to Katherine Foggo appear in your research? Their daughter Jane married an Alexander Bartleman. Jane died in East Lothian in 1873 aged 84.

Thanks for any help - if a connection very happy to share any info.

Engaged on research in East Lothian for GIBSON, but also interested in any info. on BRUNTON. I have come across the Thomas Brunton/Kathleen Foggo link in Bolton/Saltoun/Yester parishes, but did not keep a specific note because they were not the 'right' Bruntons for my research !
Have you come across a George Brunton born around 1740 - my 6th great-grandfather - and whose birth record I cannot find anywhere ? Any information would be welcomed !

Hello Jacky,
Sorry no George in my family - there are three Thomas's but 100 years or so after the years you are looking for.
My g grandfather was William Brunton who was born in Roxburgh. He was a school teacher and was Rector of Campbeltown and Paisley Grammar Schools until he retired to Edinburgh in 1875. He lived in Cumin Place according to the 1881 census and his death certificate.
I'll keep an eye out for your BRUNTONS though.
Regards
Don, Sydney, Australia

Message from Brian Burleigh received 27 January. Unfortunately, this 'Brunton' does not appear to have any connection with mine, who were generally confined to Northumberland after the mid-late 1800s.
