I suppose I could go on but am not sure if there is a connection. I have lots of Shands, a line of McKay (Isabella b.1808 Urquhart?) as well as Blackhall,McLennans, Mitchells,Richardsons,Scotts and Moir. See any overlaps with your filenames? The Shands I have born around 1801 and up are only from John Shand and Isobell Scott but they may be of same family as John's father was James Shand. I am curious to hear from you as I live in Canada and have pursued the Shand line but not as thoroughly as I intend. John Shand b.1801 is my gggg-grandfather. Cheryl at "clfrance@acs.ucalgary.ca

Surnames: KELMAN MACKIE
James SHAND and Elizabeth MACKIE had a lawful daughter named ELSPETH - born 10th.July,1802 and baptised 17th.July at Drainie, Moray, Scotland. I believe/read that the church she was baptised in at Drainie is situated now within the confines of the ROYAL AIR FORCE base at KINLOSS near Elgin - and may not be accessible to the public.
I am working at the moment towards finding descendants of James Shand and Elizabeth Mackie if anyone out there can help.

The remains of the old parish kirk of Kinneddar are inside the Royal Air Force base at Lossiemouth, not Kinloss (which is no longer an RAF base but an Army base). It is not generally accessible to the public.

If I have got the process right, you should be able to see the sites of two old kirks, both now under the RAF base, on this map:
