I work at an Assisted Living Facility and one of our residents asked me to look up some of his family. When I showed him you posting he was very excited because William "Preacher Bill" Sebastian was his great uncle. You mention Lee Ann as a daughter. He said they also had 2 sons and a daughter named Alabama who died with TB. The residents name is Ed Turner b. Breathitt, and he had a brother Hampton. His wife was Elizabeth Turner Turner. His grandfather was Hampton Turner and gmother, Sally Griffith. Sally's grandmother was a Kelly and her parents walked from NC or IND to Breathitt Co. During the course of the trip she had a child, though unmarried. Does any of this sound familiar to you? He wanted me to find info on Calloway Sebastian and John Sebastian. He did not have dates. Ed was a school teacher in Breathitt co for 20+ years and taught at Presbyterian Mission School at one time.

I was wondering if the school Presbyterian Mission School was at Canoe where Miss Patsy Turner had her mission if so I have some information you might like to have. There was a lot of Sebastians and Turners there. My husbands mother was a Turner and they were kin to the Sebastians in Breathitt Co. Ky.

I was wondering too if this is the School at Canoe where Miss Patsy taught??? My mother attended school there years and years ago. Her name was Luda Johnson (later married Willie Deaton) she was born 2/24/18...died 11/13/92. She used to board with people while she attended school there -- they lived on Lick Branch. If this is the same, I have a picture (it is at my brother's and I can scan on the computer) from about 1928-1932 somewhere in that area -- it is a class picture taken there.

I think the school that Mr Turner is talking about is the "Houston Mission" at Houston, Ky or Turkey Creek as most people in the area know it by. The school was run by a Ms Cunningham. My Dad and his brother went to school there and were probably there when Mr Turner was going to school. I am interested in hearing from the lady who is related to Sebastians from Canoe area
