Hi Ellie
I'm not Jay Acock, but Sandy Hart. I live in California and know about my Missouri roots from a few brief ancestor-hunting trips.
Your husband and I are SIXTH cousins! His GGGG Grandfather, Henry Acock (1790-aft 1861) was the brother of my GGGG Grandmother, Sarah Acock Talkington.
Have you ever corresponded with Bill Acock of Jerico Springs in Cedar Co MO (now deceased)? He and Lloyd Earl would have been 3rd cousins, both GGGrandsons of Henry Acock and Madeline Leona Sears. He was a wealth of information about the branch of the Acock family that ended up in the Cedar/Polk/Dade Co area of MO.
Thanks for responding to this (old) post
Sandy

Hello Cousin Sandy, this is Ellie...just read this to John. Big hello back...what happened to Jay Acock? Did you trace the family back to Birmingham, England? I sort of did, at least I saw a couple of reference to that point...was about the 1500's-1600's. Acock's Greene in Birmingham is often referred to but have no proof so far. I enjoy doing genealogy and guess you do too. Lloyd Acock had 4 children by Nell...John's dad, Gerald, Clyde ( CAliformia) and Dorothy. They are all deceased now as far as we know. Dorothy had two kids...girl and boy...the boy (we can't think of his name last name perhaps Mollo???, is/was a Major in Salvation Army in Kansas City. John is blank right now on their names. Lloyd and Nell divorced and he married Laura Acock and they lived in Ashby, MA. where he was a Sheriff. Was Lloyd perhaps orig. from MA. Not sure right now. My husband John, was a helicopter pilot for 25 years...Army. HIS father, John senior, was SGT. in the Army and our son Adam, just recently retired from the Air Force as a Major. MY side of the family is also all career military!! We've lived in Japan, Germany, France and Australia. What a blast!! Maybe that's why I am so into genealogy...need to have ROOTS. :) Ellie
