Hi Chris,

This is your cousin Tina Avern. I am working on the family tree at the moment, and will update you as soon as I gather enough information to be of interest. Our tree currently goes back to 1700's - We originated in Lambeth, some members moved to Southampton.
If you could send me your email address, I will contact you.

I hope you are all well.
Kind Regards
Tina

I too would like to know more about the London Averns.
I have deatils on The ROWINGTON and Warwickshire (area) Averns going back to 1493.
Then of course there are the Chester Averns who started the Cork industry there, which I belive is still going in Portugual

Marjorie,
I have started to compile my family tree. The earliest date I have found (to date) is 1788, James Avern, a Cork Cutter from Lambeth in London. If you are interested, once I have worked on it, I could send you a copy.
I know that James William Avern DOB 1827) was a "Cork Cutter, and teaveller with corks". Some of his children were born in Lambeth, and some in Southampton.

Kind Regards
Tina Avern
